Shot Blasting

To prepare objects for powder coating we propel an abrasive, under high pressure at the item. This gives a perfect surface roughness for perfect powder coating adhesion and removes surface contaminants, such as unwanted paint and debris. Minimal damage is achieved by using various mediums such as copper slag, recycled crushed glass or garnet.

All our blasting is carried out in our blast booth, and we recycle our garnet as much as possible by manually sweeping and shoveling the abrasive back into the blasting equipment.

What do we blast?

The list below is a small one, and is by no means exhaustive. It is to give you an idea of items that can be blasted. Basically, anything that is metal can be blasted.

We are able to blast items up to a maximum of 6m long, 2.5m high and 3m wide.

  • Vintage bike parts
  • Industrial fabrications
  • Vehicle chassis
  • Pressure vessels
  • Gates
  • Railings
  • Garden Furniture
  • Push Bikes
  • Bed Frames
  • Radiators

Wood can also be blasted, to achieve an aged look on new wood or to remove tarnish from hard woods preparing the surface for treatment.
